Can we trust NATO?

It's a simple question, really. Will NATO side with Turkey (militarily) if Russia and Iran do come to Syria's aid and take an extreme anti-Turkish posture?

Can we count on our Western allies, or will NATO avoid confrontation with Russia in order to avoid starting the WW3?

How far will NATO go to protect Turkey from an aggression from the axis of evil? From Syria, Russia and Iran?

Its in their own interest.

I'd love for the US and UK to get involved in Syria militarily, but I don't see that quite happening while the US is preoccupied in Iraq and Afghanistan and with Russia and China supporting the Assad regime. Turkey will have to either do it alone, or do everything necessary to use its NATO privilages.

I feel like Turkey should immediately request long range air defence systems (Patriots) to protect its airspace from a possibe Syrian SCUD attack and possible chemical warheads.

The fact that Turkey still lacks a long range missile defense system is unforgivable. We should have gotten these systems back in the 90s!

We're still using the jurassic-era JUPITER missiles for God's sakes!

I don't think that Turkish Armed Forces will continue without a good Air Defence system...
These days are critical...
And even our president must be aware of the threat after visiting Russia...
I'm not totally sure but i hope so...
