Will Turkey finally get long-range air defence missiles?

It's 2012 and Turkey is still using the MIM-14 Nike-Hercules missiles from the 1950s. This is unbelivable. The entire world has retired them decades ago.

Thanks to our complete ignorance of our neighbor's military capabilities, ambitions and geopolical goals as well as our over confidence in our aging F-16 fleet, we've grossly omitted our air defence systems. We should have bought Patriot systems back in the 90s, but the project was postponed over and over and over again.

It's fucking time! Every squarefoot of Turkey has to be protected from the dangers of ballistic missiles. All the politicans and generals who have left millions of Turks completely defenseless against the SCUDs and other ballistic missiles of radical regimes in Syria, Iran and Russia should be PRISONED!

I thought NIKE has some anti-ICBM capabilities... Sadly it is stationery system...

I am not quite interested in political discussions, but calling radical to Syria (at least the are not theocratic state) and (for sake, man!) Russia???? Russia is not even a comunist country anymore! :shock:
